Box District Team

The Box District is a smart growth, transit oriented neighborhood revitalized by a collaboration of public, non-profit and private-sector partners led by Chelsea Neighborhood Developers. In 2005, Chelsea Neighborhood Developers invited Mitchell Properties, a private developer, to join CND's efforts as a partner to revitalize a former semi-industrial and primarily vacant area into a vibrant mixed income residential community. The City of Chelsea and the State of Massachusetts recognized this as a Smart Growth, Transit Oriented Development neighborhood and offered tremendous financial support to ensure its success.
