City & State Partners

The City of Chelsea, with support from the North Suburban Consortium, and the State of Massachusetts, through the Department of Housing and Community Development, are providing critical funding for housing development in the Box District. The City is also providing infrastructure improvements in the area, such as new streets, sidewalks, lights and trees. The project was one of the first to receive funding under the state's Transit-Oriented Development program, which was critical in making the project possible, and was one of the state's first two Chapter 40R Smart Growth communities.
